CRCT Alert

Parents,

All grade levels 1st-5th will be taking the state-wide CRCT test the week of April 16th-20th.  Please make sure that your child eats a healthy breakfast and has had plenty of rest.  It is very important that students arrive on time.  We know that all of our students will do their very best.

Writing Fair

                    Congratulations to our 2007 Writing Fair Winners! One student from each grade level has been selected to represent LaBelle in this year's Cobb County School District Writing Fair. 

Math News

Teachers in the K-5 classrooms are implementing the performance standards in math.  Students are investigating an array of math concepts through hands-on experiences, student-to-student discussions, small group exploration, etc.  As a part of the daily math instruction, teachers and students are actively involved with Calendar Math, Exemplars, and Investigations.  Parents are encouraged to discuss and use math concepts with their children as a part of their daily routines.

Million Word Campaign

On October 9, 2006, LaBelle celebrated its Million Word Kick-Off with a visit from the Hawks and Thrashers mascots.  This event launched our 2006-2007 reading campaign.  This year's theme is  A Million Words ...Just Do It!  Throughout the year, students read daily to  reach their goal of reading a million words.  Parents are asked to promote reading at home by encouraging their children to read at least  20 minutes each day.  The culminating activity will be a school-wide reading celebration.
