What a fabulous year we had in our class!
SHURLEY English was a welcome addition to our curriculum that made English grammar and vocabulary fun and painless to learn. Mrs. Hogan was very pleased with the growth in our Language Arts CRCT scores.
Students were able to learn how to care for the lizards and geckos. All students showed great responsibility and respect for the animals.
We all enjoyed using technology - learning with the ActivBoard and taking Accelerated Reading tests. This fifth grade took more tests than any in recent years, which made all of the fifth grade teachers proud.
During the summer, please keep reading and brush up on those math facts! You will find the extra effort really pays off in middle school. Those of you in summer school please know that your teachers here at LaBelle are confident that you will pass it and go on to middle school. You are all so close! We are cheering for you the whole month of June!
Everyone have a great vacation!
Mrs. Kincade and Mrs. Holmes
These tips may be used for all fifth grade tests: ITBS, Fifth Grade Writing Assessment, and CRCT.
*Encourage your child to get plenty of rest. Share a funny story or favorite family memory to help your child get to sleep and have good dreams.
*Provide a nutricious breakfast with at least one food your child really likes.
*Make sure your child gets to school in time to sharpen pencils, use the restroom, and calmly put away belongings.
*Dress your child in comfortable clothes with a sweater that can be added if the room gets too cold or removed if it is too hot. Encourage your child to wear blue, purple, green, yellow, or pink, but NOT red. Some experts believe that red increases the level of stress, so your child might want to avoid this color.
